About TeamLaLanne.org and JLLDay.org
TeamLaLanne.org and JLLDay.org are independent, not-for-profit endeavors with no affiliation to JackLaLanne.com or any affiliate thereof. It is a production of TeamHuman.org to promote the message that the health of the human race is improved by individuals taking charge of their own health and fitness, a message believed to be very much aligned with Jack LaLanne's philosophy.
The Team LaLanne website is run by Steve Chervitz Trutane, shown here with sons Russell (7) and Perry (3, in arm) in 2008. Steve is a dedicated triathlete in the SF Bay Area who, in addition to having done numerous triathlons since 1993, has done some feats of strength of his own. Steve currently works out at the very same Berkeley YMCA at which Jack got started on his fitness path.
Steve is in contact with the LaLanne organization via Chris LaLanne, Jack's great nephew who runs a crossfit gym in San Francisco, and the LaLanne family has expressed their approval of TeamLanne.org's mission.
Jack LaLanne has been an inspirational figure in Steve's life ever since he was a baby when his Mom (Judy Chervitz) stayed in shape via Jack's TV shows. She also bought the copy of the 1959 Glamour Stretcher Time album that Steve is holding in the photo, (yes that is in fact blue see-through vinyl -- Jack was ahead of his time there, too). Judy has always taught us that "your body is a temple" and should be cared for with due respect. Since Jack's show went off the air, she keeps fit via aerobics and walking.
